Description: We'll play with physical performance using an avatar while the performer is tracked with a Kinect 2. We'll show what does and doesn't work for recognizing your body with this specific sensor, especially how to be expressive with a reduced set of body motions. The workshop will also quickly cover usage of Kinect plugins for Unity & mapping skeletal animations. But mostly this working is about bodily performance.
What to Bring: Your body! The physical setup for this workshop will use our Kinect 2 + Windows PC. Code will be published on Github, so if you bring your own setup you'll be able to duplicate ours. Bringing your own computer is not necessary to attend. Unfortunately, macOS compatibility is not guaranteed due to Kinect 2 + macOS driver issues.
